  18. Murdoch, who's trying to prevent the termination of the bankrupt
  19. New York Post. Five years ago, after Murdoch bought a New York TV
  20. station, federal regulators forced him to sell the tabloid. A
  21. series of inept owners followed; the latest, Abe Hirschfeld, was
  22. so despised that his workers aboused him with headlines like WHO
  23. IS THIS NUT? In desperation, New York pols are importuning
  24. Washington to let Murdoch buy the Post again. Though staff
  25. members cheer, they may still face demands to tighten their
  26. belts one more notch.
